How Do We Work?

Here’s a quick look at how we bring your space to life

Phase 1 – Initial Consultation

1-2 hour high level consultation to discuss the scope of work involved in the renovation or new build project. Our goal is to gather enough information to provide a design fee for the project and a range of what you can expect the total project to cost. This time can be used however you'd like. If you need help with items outside of the project, such as picking a paint colour for another room, the time can be used in this manner as well.

Phase 2 – Concept Development & Site Measure

The goal of this meeting is to understand your design aesthetic by taking a deep dive into your preferences of specific design elements such as colour, lines, texture, patterns, etc. Understanding your aesthetic is achieved through asking a series of questions and showing you visual examples. Inspiration photos from the client are welcome and encouraged at this phase. If the project is a renovation of an existing space, this meeting will take place at the renovation site where we will also measure the spaces to be renovated. If your project is a new construction build or if you have architectural plans please provide them at this time.

Phase 3 – Design Planning & Revisions

This phase is where our team works hard behind the scenes to bring your vision to life through CAD drawings, 3D renderings, and mood boards. Upon completion we will present the layout, renderings and finish selections as well as provide any physical samples we are able to obtain. 2 revisions are included in our design fee. It is extremely important to be as specific and definitive as possible with your feedback. Further revisions will be charged on an hourly basis.

Phase 4 – Design Approval & Bids

Once you sign off on the design; including layout, hard finishes, and soft finishes, we will send these elements to the contractor of your choice to provide pricing for the cost of labor associated with the renovation. If you don't have a contractor, we can recommend a list of our preferred contractors. While it is our preference to work with our list of contractors, we want you to feel comfortable with who is working in your home and will collaborate with the contractor of your choice.

Phase 5 – Final Approval & Ordering

After receiving the estimate from your contractor you now have a full picture of what the project will cost and are able to give final approval to move ahead. During this phase we will resend a packet of all of the products to be ordered with pricing. At this time you will need to sign off and provide payment for these items. We will then go ahead with the execution and provide receipts for all orders.

Phase 6 – Construction & Oversight

During this phase we will work closely with your contractor to make sure the design of any renovation work is being executed according to plan. We will make regular site visits, participate in any necessary site meetings and act as a liaison between you and your contractor. Should “surprises” arise, as they often do during renovations, we will be there to troubleshoot and advise you on the best course of action given the situation. The most efficient way to get your questions answered regarding subcontractor timelines and work performance is to contact the contractor directly.

Phase 7 – Installation

The day has finally arrived and construction is complete. During this phase we will have your furnishings, rugs, and accessories delivered and installed. We will be there to direct the crew and layer in our finishing touches.

Phase 8 – Photography

At the completion of each project we love to have the opportunity to photograph our work. Each project is special and unique to us and having the opportunity to have us professionally photograph it helps us grow. Depending on the size of the project and timeline of completion we may ask to photograph one space as we go, or shoot all of the completed spaces in one day. We like to be as minimally invasive as possible, but may bring in some items to accessorize and may move existing items around a bit. Don't fret we will always put everything back where we found it.

Testimonials

Don't Take Our Word For It

Sunny has a ton of ideas and really takes the time to listen to what your vision is, while simultaneously offering suggestions that I would never think of. You can tell that interior design is her passion as it shines through in every conversation we have. She worked within budget and offered many options. We had her help us with our kitchen renovations, bathrooms, and also furnishing our home. The coolest part was when she offered us 3D images of our future kitchen and bathrooms would look like, and it helped us visualize the designs she created for us and ultimately helped us make the best decisions for our dream home!

G.B.

From the initial exploration phone call all the way through to completion, Sunny was a true professional and pleasure to work with. Sunny’s knowledge, creative and brilliant ideas were exceptional and were instrumental of why my listing sold in record time and multiple offers as potential buyers got to see a potential renovation concept through design boards created from Sunny’s drawings. Always available to answer my many questions without hesitation with thorough explanations made it effortless and enjoyable without feeling like I was bothering her. I fully recommend Sunny for your design needs.

J.B.

Sunny was incredibly easy to work with when helping us design our home. Her guidance and choices through the many areas of decision making are what made us delighted to have her included in such a major undertaking. We are so thrilled to have hired her as she definitely saved us time, money and countless headaches.

D.G.

Sunny is very good at what she does, for my style in decor I wanted old solid wood furniture with some shabby chic mixed in. She sourced out some delightful small shops in out of the way places that I would never have found on my own. If her work place was a hotel she would be a 5 star hotel. With her efficiency she has saved me time, money, and energy.
